COVERGIRL NAKO

Am I allowed to be honest today? I hate my face. No I don’t HATE my FACE, but I hate the stuff on my face, the blemishes, dark spots, scars.. Does that make me insecure? I don’t think so. COVERGIRL has become my cute little project because I’ve recently become obsessed with being a woman comfortable in her skin, I speak to myself every morning and say Nako you have to lose weight it’s not healthy, you have to work on your skin, you need to find your retainer. I’m trying to get right because sooner than later I’ll be on televisionscreens and I have to look good! I am  a person that believes anything can be fixed as long as GOD is evident. Self esteem is a big issue that isn’t discussed enough in schools. There are girls battling with not being comfortable in their skin, hence the title COVERGIRL. Without the makeup, IG filter, or weave who are you? I pray that you’re still a strong women a woman who knows she beautiful. Not that I float off my dude’s compliments but to me it seems as if he only says I look pretty when I’m super natural and barefaced, he loves me flaws and all. Beloware a few questions that youshould answer in your private time. Also check out #nakedissexy on meaashley.com, a great documentary on self esteem and being comfortable in your skin!

 2 Corinthians 3:16-18(NLT)

“But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord-who is the Spirit- makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. “ Selah

Prayer:  Father God in Heaven, I come to you today/tonight asking you for repentance of my sins known and unknown. God I ask you to cleanse me of my ways and my thoughts that are not like you. God today I want to be made in your image, I want to people to see You in me, I aspire to be Christ-Like. I no longer want my past to define me, God in you I want to be made brand new. For in your Word, you told me that when I remove the mask and the makeup, I can find freedom and newness in you. God fill me with confidence and peace, I am beautiful, I am loved and my future is bright. God today I am putting my faith into you because I know with you I can be made whole, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

When you hear the word COVERGIRL what words come to mind?

How often do you wear makeup, lashes, weave?

Are you comfortable in your natural? ( no makeup, weave)?

Do you feel that makeup and weave makes you more attractive versus no makeup and weave?

After answering these questions, meditate then read the scripture again.

We as Christians should always aspire to be in His image. You don’t have to be a COVERGIRL any longer, many of us want eyelashes, we want a bigger but, we want foreign cars and designer bags but what about desiring faith? If we put that same hope into obtaining peace, patience and the spirit of God dwelling on the inside of us, God will give us the desires of our heart. (Psalms 37:4)

We as women should aspire to be confident because are we fearfully and wondefully made.(Psalms 139:14)

Christ doesn’t see us for who we were, He sees us for who we can be and how we will testify about His glory. The bible is telling us to take the veil(makeup) off and and the artificial enhances. You don’t have to be pretty and made up to pray and talk to God, He takes us exactly how we are. (James 4:8, Isaiah 55:1)

Write yourself a letter, Dear Covergirl, be honest with yourself. Maybe your weakness isn’t with your beauty, it can be men or greed. Today, encourage yourself to take the veil off and be made in His image.
