#WomensMarch
Dr. Freedom Anderson-Washington led the women’s march with her husband and their adopted children. Beautiful babies of different ethnicities that she loved all of the same and didn’t treat them any differently. With her air horn to her pouty lips she marched forward shouting slogans that she created as hundreds and thousands of other people walked with her. They wanted something from the government, they were demanding change and wouldn’t stop protesting until women’s rights were acknowledged and respected.
Freedom was tired but she didn’t plan on slowing down any time soon. Aside from marching today with other women she had also been invited to speak on several different panels over the last few weeks along with conducting research to prepare proposals to take to the Senate.
She loved what she did and she did it with everything in her which was one of the things that her man admired about her.
He looked over at her and pulled her hair back from her forehead, “You want some of my water?” Chief asked his wife.
She shook her head and looked down at her children to make sure they wasn’t getting dehydrated or tired.
The minute they said they needed a break or a nap, Chief had already planned to take them home.
Originally, he wanted them to stay home with the nanny but of course Freedom told him HELL NO.
She wanted her children to know that they had a voice and could use it anytime they wanted whereas he felt as if the kids were too young to understand what was going on.
But last night before bed and this morning as they drove to the march, Freedom educated her children on what was going on.
She even asked them to prepare project boards in the upcoming week on what they learned.
They were raising scholars.
Freedom cleared her throat and got her head back in the game as she continued to shout out for what she believed in.
Chief shook his head, his lil mama was something else.
He couldn’t believe he was out here right along with her but that’s what marriage did to you.
It was about compromise.
And doing what you needed to do to see the other person happy and healthy.
Being healthy in love was something that Freedom had recently did research on and she ended up writing a book about it which led her to receiving a few awards.
She believed that love produced happiness which in return made us live longer and healthier lives.
Freedom was once the woman who advocated for women who were celibate and finding themselves while being single but now she was happily married and encouraged good vibes in marriages.
she and Chief argued that was normal but they never went to bed angry.
He brought out the best in her and so did she, things were kosher and she couldn’t be happier.
To wake up every day to the love of your life and your kids….that was a blessing that Freedom thanked God for daily.
The women’s march was happening all over the United States of America and that too, brought a smile to her face but she knew it was all because of social media. And that was cool with her, whatever had to be used to get our people involved Freedom was down with it.
